Our joint Azerbaijani–Bulgarian venture is built on a strategy of sustainable economic development and is creating new opportunities in this sector.
Each year, Azerbaijan imports between 80,000 and 140,000 tons of various lubricants. Due to the absence of domestic base oil production, local economic entities remain fully dependent on foreign production.
Until now, waste oils were either discarded or incinerated as fuel — practices that led to serious environmental harm. For example, burning just five liters of used oil instantly pollutes as much air as a person breathes over the course of three years.
It is important to note, that the molecular structure of lubricants remains intact over time. What deteriorates are the functional additives, which lose their effectiveness and require replacement.
«Caspian Lubricants Recycling» has implemented an advanced recycling technology that consists of three key purification stages:
Atmospheric distillation: At the first stage, dehydrated oil undergoes atmospheric distillation to remove dissolved hydrocarbons of diesel and gasoline fuels.
Vacuum distillation: In the second stage, the purified oil is then subjected to vacuum distillation at temperatures exceeding 300°C. Thin-film evaporators enable the precise separation of oil distillates, while components not required for further production are removed.
Regenerative adsorption purification: At the final stage, the distillate is purified at 80°C through regenerative adsorption, ensuring compliance with international quality standards.
Through this sustainable technology, we convert hazardous waste into high-quality base oils without producing additional pollutants.
